Thoughts on Uncrtainty

One of my favorite Paulo Coelho quotes in the art of living is “If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine; it is lethal.”Adventure is dangerous cause it might involve exploring some undiscovered areas. It is full of uncertainty in the process and the results. On the other hand, the routine is safe and secure. The processes and the results are clear and certain. Coelho though finds it lethal. What's more, one of my best mentors once taught me one simple but golden rule. He said "Startups = Uncertainty" I'll go even a bit further and I'd say "Life = Uncertainty". This is an important lesson I have learned from the holy Quran (Surah Al-Hijr) (97) We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. (98) But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. (99) And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is "Certain". This is a lesson for every entrepreneur, believer or changer. For everyone out there trying to swim against the flow and break the status quo. Do not chase the certainty. It means your death. Instead, embrace the uncertainty and train yourself to live peacefully with it. You will face too many disappointments and you have to deal with too many naysayers. Just keep working for good doing what do you believe is right until the Hour that is "Certain".
