5 Thoughts on Social Entrepreneurship from Madrid

"en el error, encontrarás el Camino" -In the mistake, you will find the way- I know that I'm a bit active on Facebook this week but really I don't know why? maybe because I got some sun- euphoria after arriving Spain with 35 degrees in October!! Anyway, I met this week one of the community leaders of SEnt. - Social Entrepreneurship- in Spain and in the following lines, I'll try to summarize the most important lessons that I've learned out of this meeting. 1- SEnt. is an uprising hype in Europe right now. Try not to be fooled by the name. SEnt. is just a new 'cool' name that promotes a higher purpose: the Social Economy that has a deeper and more comprehensive meaning of such an alternative economical system. You might want to check this link http://www.ripess.org/ . Social Solidarity Economy. Have you ever heard about such a name before? 2- SEnt. should put the human on its focus and favor her meaningful interests and her rights over everything else. 'Impact' will follow. When I asked César what dose SEnt. mean in Spain? and after a long answer, he finished his statement with an awaken sentence. He said a SEnt. should be a leading member in promoting justice and equality and the trusted keeper of workers rights. 3- SEnt. in Spain seems to me that it is more social and in Germany is more entrepreneurial. That is just my first impression. 4- SEnt. in Spain is so much involved in the political scene more than in Germany. They have a long relationship. On the other hand in Germany, I see they have just started dating and there is a long way to go. There are are some initial efforts lead bySocial Entrepreneurship Netzwerk Deutschland has started to buzz the seen. 5- SEnt. is a game changer in the social transformations. It will have a huge impactful corruption on the coming power shifts in our society. Taking out more power and control from the 'state' to give that back to the 'people'. Can't see what I'm trying to say? Ask Google and investigate more on the clashes between the shared economy "startups", which they started one day as social companies, likeUber or Airbnb with big cites like Berlin or London. And finally when I asked him what does a social enterprise mean for him? His answer was "A social enterprise is a coherent system inside that is pursuing a transformation of the system outside"
